Objective of the Game
Schatz der Drachen, or "Treasure of the Dragons," is a strategic board game where players take on the roles of adventurers aiming to loot the legendary dragon's hoard full of treasures. The winner is the player who has collected the most treasures by the end of the game.
Game Components
- 1 game board with a labyrinth
- 4 player figures in different colors
- 1 dragon figure
- Treasure cards
- Movement dice (6-sided)
- Event cards
Game Setup
- Each player selects a game piece and places it on the starting area of the game board.
- All treasure cards are shuffled and placed face-down on the corresponding spaces within the labyrinth.
- The dragon is placed in the center of the board.
- Event cards are shuffled and placed as a face-down deck.
Gameplay
Turn Structure
- Roll the Dice: The player rolls the die and moves their figure the corresponding number of spaces in the labyrinth.
- Enter Treasure Chambers: If a player lands on a treasure space, they may pick up the corresponding treasure card, which indicates the treasure's value.
- Draw Event Cards: If a player lands on an event space, they draw an event card and perform the described action. These can provide advantages or challenges.
- Dragon Movement: On certain occasions (e.g., when triggering specific event cards), the dragon moves to try and stop the adventurers. If a player is caught by the dragon, they must return to the start and miss one turn.
End of the Game
The game ends when all treasure cards have been collected from the board. Players then tally the value of their collected treasure cards. The player with the highest total value wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Risk vs. Reward: Plan your moves to collect as many treasures as possible while avoiding dragon movements.
- Using Event Cards Wisely: Sometimes, drawing a seemingly disadvantageous event card can be beneficial if it hampers an opponent more than it helps you.
