Objective
Geister Geister is a cooperative family game where players work together to collect all the treasures in a haunted house and escape before it becomes overrun with ghosts. Players must strategically cooperate to achieve the shared goal.
Components
- 1 Game Board (Haunted House)
- 24 Ghost Figures
- 6 Haunt Markers
- 8 Explorer Figures in various colors
- 4 Color Dice
- 19 Treasure Cards
Setup
- Setup the Game Board: Place the board in the middle of the table.
- Choose Explorers: Each player selects an explorer figure.
- Starting Position: Place figures on the starting space of the board.
- Initial Ghosts: Distribute three ghost figures randomly on the yellow spaces of the game board.
- Treasure Cards: Shuffle and place the treasure cards aside.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in rounds with each player taking a turn.
Player's Turn
- Roll the Dice: Roll the color dice and move your figure to the corresponding color.
- Perform Action:
- Collect Treasure: If there is a treasure card in the room, pick it up.
- Fight Ghosts: If ghosts are present in your room, attempt to defeat them by rolling the color die and matching the color.
- Summon New Ghosts: Draw a ghost card, adding a ghost figure to the corresponding room on the board.
Special Rules
- Multiple Ghosts in a Room: With 3 ghosts, the room becomes "haunted" and cannot be entered unless you defeat a ghost first.
- Teamwork: Players are encouraged to discuss strategies and coordinate their actions for optimal results.
End Game
- Win: Players win if they collect all treasures and escape the house before it is overrun with ghosts.
- Lose: The game is lost if the ghosts take over the house or rooms become irreparably haunted.
