Objective of the Game
The objective of The Game is to discard cards while keeping an eye on the sum of the previously discarded cards, so you can be the first to get rid of all your cards. You need to play your cards tactically to either hit the exact sum or avoid getting stuck with unplayable cards.
Setup
- Components: The game comprises a set of numbered playing cards.
- Players: Designed for 2 to 8 players.
- Initial Setup: Shuffle the cards thoroughly and distribute them evenly among all players, so each player has the same number of cards.
Gameplay
- Starting Player: Randomly determine a starting player.
- Turn Progression:
- The starting player plays a card and announces the total of the card.
- The next player clockwise must then play a card on the discard pile that complements the current sum.
- Each player has exactly one card to play per turn.
-
If a player cannot play a card or chooses not to, they must pass.
-
End of Game: The game ends when a player has discarded all their cards or when no more strategic moves can be made. The first player to get rid of all their cards wins the game.
