Objective
The objective of Top Trumps is to use your cards wisely to win all the others in the deck and eliminate your opponents by collecting all their cards.
Components
- A deck of cards, each featuring various categories with specific values (e.g., speed, weight, power).
Number of Players
- 2 to 6 players can participate in a game of Top Trumps.
Setup
- Shuffle the deck thoroughly.
- Deal all the cards evenly among the players so each player has a face-down deck. It's okay if some players have one card more.
Gameplay
-
Starting the Game: The player to the dealer's left starts first. They draw the top card of their deck, look at it, and choose a category (e.g., "Speed") they believe will outperform the others.
-
Challenge: The other players then draw the top card from their own decks and compare the values in the same chosen category.
-
Round Winner: The player with the highest value in the chosen category wins the round and takes all the played cards, placing them face down at the bottom of their deck.
-
In the event of a tie for the highest value, these cards are set aside and the same player chooses a new category from their next card. The winner of the following round also wins the previously tied cards.
-
Continuation: The winner from each round chooses a new category from their top card in the next round.
-
Elimination: If a player runs out of cards, they are eliminated from the game.
End of Game
The game ends when a single player owns all the cards. This player is the winner of Top Trumps.
