Welcome Back to the Dungeon

Objective Welcome Back to the Dungeon is a strategic card game where players take turns equipping heroes and attempting to send them into a dungeon while the other players add monster cards. The goal is to survive the dungeons with your hero or be the last surviving player.

Game Components

• 4 different Heroes (each with unique abilities)
• 1 set of Equipment cards per hero
• A deck of Monster cards
• Life cards for the heroes
• Overview cards and player aids

Game Setup

1. Hero Selection: A player selects one of the heroes and places their equipment items face up beside them.
2. Monster Deck: Shuffle all monster cards and place the stack face down in the center of the table.
3. Each player receives a player aid.

Game Play

The game proceeds in rounds, each consisting of the following phases:

1. Adding Monsters or Removing Equipment
2. On your turn, draw the top monster card from the deck and decide:
   • Add: Place it face down next to the growing dungeon.
   • Pass: Remove one of the hero's equipment instead, and set it aside.

3. If you don't want to add a card, you can "pass," meaning you withdraw from this round.

4. Entering the Dungeon

5. When only one player is left after all others have passed, this player must take the current hero equipment and start the "Dungeon phase."
6. Fight the Monsters: Turn over the dungeon monster cards one by one and use your remaining equipment abilities to defeat the monsters.
7. If you defeat all monsters, you earn a success point.

8. If you fail, you lose one of your lives.

9. End of Round and New Round

10. A new round begins with a hero selection and equipment is reset.
11. The first player to accumulate two success points wins the game. A player is eliminated if they lose all their lives.

Strategic Considerations

• Balance: Decide wisely which monsters to add and whether to remove equipment.
• Bluffing: Mislead your opponents about the dungeon's real threat level.
• Risk vs Safety: Assessing when passing is the better option.
• Hero Knowledge: Proper use of each hero's abilities determines dungeon success.
