Objective
In "Cacao," you take on the role of a tribe leader guiding your people to prosperity by cultivating and trading cacao, the most precious resource in the jungle. The objective of the game is to have the most gold coins at the end of the game.
Game Components
The game includes jungle tiles, worker tiles, and gold coins. Each player gets a set of 11 worker tiles of their own color.
Setup
- Place the starting jungle tiles (a marketplace and a jungle mine tile) next to each other.
- Each player receives starting gold coins.
- Shuffle the remaining jungle tiles and place them as a face-down stack.
Game Play
"Cacao" is played over several rounds. During your turn, perform the following steps:
- Place a Worker Tile:

Place one of your worker tiles on the board adjacent to existing jungle tiles, ensuring it shares a side with at least one.

Add Jungle Tiles (if possible):

If your placed worker tile opens up two free jungle spaces, draw a jungle tile from the stack and place it on one of these spaces. Your opponent will place the second tile.

Execute Actions:
- Harvest Cacao: If placed next to a cacao field, take the corresponding number of cacao from the supply.
- Sell Cacao: Exchange cacao for gold coins at a marketplace.
- Water Cult Site: Move your water cult marker on the water track, which scores points at the end.
- Gold Mine: Immediately receive extra gold coins.
End of Round
A round ends after all actions are executed, and the next player takes their turn.
End of Game
The game ends when all worker tiles have been placed. Then, a final scoring occurs: - Gold coins gained through selling and mining - Position on the water cult track
