Objective of the Game
The objective of "Die Ritter von der Haselnuß" is to conquer all twelve castles in your area of influence as a knight. The winner is the first to achieve this goal or who controls most castles when the game ends.
Game Components
- 95 Action Cards: Including Clover Cards, Dragon Cards, Knight Cards, and various special cards.
- 12 Castle Cards: Represent the castles to be conquered.
- 1 Game Board: Contains an overview of all castles and possible bonus fields.
Game Setup
- Each player chooses a knight figure and places it on the start field.
- The castle cards are shuffled and distributed face down on the castle spaces of the game board.
- Each player is dealt five action cards.
- The remaining action cards form the draw pile.
Gameplay
- Turn Order: Each player takes turns being the active player.
- Draw Cards: At the beginning of each turn, the player draws two cards from the draw pile.
- Perform Actions: The player may perform up to two actions. Possible actions include:
- Play Clover Card: Advance by the corresponding castle fields.
- Play Knight Card: Allows building barricades at castles to make conquest harder.
- Play Dragon Card: Achieve additional or special movement patterns for your knights.
- Play Special Cards: These can be used strategically to sabotage opponents or gain advantages.
- Conquer Castles: To conquer a castle, players must land on it and overcome its defenses with a suitable action card.
- Limitations: Players must not hold more than eight cards at hand at the end of their turn. Excess cards must be discarded.
Winning Conditions
- The game immediately ends when one player has conquered all castles.
- Alternatively, the player with the most conquered castles wins when no action cards can be drawn.
Strategic Tips
- Planning: Always maintain a portfolio of various action cards to respond flexibly to opponent maneuvers.
- Timing: Correct timing in playing Dragon Cards can be crucial to pushing opponents back.
- Castle Blockade: Tactically block castles to slow down or redirect your opponents.
