Objective of the Game
Maestro Leonardo is a strategic board game where players take on the roles of Renaissance geniuses trying to be the first to complete a series of masterpieces. The objective of the game is to accumulate the most prestige points by completing various inventions, buildings, and artworks.
Game Components
- A game board depicting the city with various workshops and workstations.
- Wooden resources in different colors (e.g., metal, wood, stone, etc.) needed to complete projects.
- Project cards representing the inventions, buildings, or artworks.
- Worker figures for each player.
- Money in the form of game coins.
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table and distribute the resources to the designated workshops.
- Each player receives a certain number of starting resources and money.
- Shuffle the project cards and place them face down next to the board.
- Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding worker figures.
- At the start, each player draws a specific number of project cards into their hand.
Gameplay
The game proceeds over several rounds, which are divided into the following phases:
- Planning Phase
-
Players secretly decide which workshops to send their workers to by placing their figures on the corresponding action card.
-
Action Phase
-
Starting with the starting player, each player performs the actions of the workshop where they placed their worker. Actions include collecting resources, exchanging resources, or earning money.
-
Project Development Phase
-
With collected resources, players can now attempt to complete their projects on the project cards. Each project requires a specific number of resources.
-
End of Round
- After the project development phase ends, a new round begins. The starting player marker may be passed to another player in the next round (optional, based on rules).
Winning Conditions
The game ends when a player has completed a predetermined number of projects or when no more project cards can be drawn. The player with the most prestige points wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Resource Planning: Ensure you are continually gathering enough resources for future projects so no round is wasted.
- Project Selection: Choose projects that match your stockpiled resources and yield more prestige points.
- Opponent Observation: Keep an eye on what projects other players are aiming for to possibly snatch resources away or strategically block projects.
