Objective
In Game of Trains, players aim to rearrange the wagons of their train into ascending order, starting from the engine to the rear end of the train. The first player to achieve this wins the game.
Materials
- A deck of cards numbered from 1 to 84.
- Each card depicts a colorful wagon with a unique number.
Setup
- Each player draws seven cards randomly from the deck and places them face down in a line.
- Players then reveal their seven cards, placing the lowest number on the far left and the highest number on the far right. These form their initial train lineup.
- The remaining cards form a draw pile in the middle of the table, and one card is placed face up next to it as the discard.
Gameplay
Game of Trains is played in turns, and in each turn, players perform the following actions:
- Draw a card: The player draws the top card from the draw pile and replaces one of their own cards with it. The discarded card goes onto the discard pile.
- Use an action: Alternatively, a player can use the ability of the top card in the discard pile to perform a special action.
Abilities
- Swap two cards: Switch the position of two adjacent cards.
- Shift: Move one card one place to the left or right.
- Remove a card: Remove any one card from your train and replace it with the top card from the draw pile.
Key Strategies
- Always keep track of your cards and plan your steps in advance to get them in the correct order.
- Use the special actions of the cards wisely to overcome obstacles in the sequence.
- Watch your opponents' moves and try to counteract their plans with well-timed actions and abilities.
The first player to have all their cards in ascending order wins the game.
