Objective of the Game

Samana - Encounter is a cooperative game where players work together to achieve spiritual enlightenment. They explore various spiritual themes and strive to foster harmony and understanding within the group.

Game Components

• Game board with various paths
• 84 cards, including Meditation Cards, Encounter Cards, and Harmony tokens
• 6 Pawns
• Harmony Points Tracker
• Rules

Setup

1. Place the game board in the middle of the table.
2. Each player chooses a pawn and places it on the starting space.
3. Shuffle the Meditation Cards and place them as a deck.
4. Each player is dealt two Encounter Cards, and the remaining cards form separate decks.
5. Set the Harmony Points to '0'.

Gameplay

1. Start of Round: Each round begins with the starting player drawing a Meditation Card and reading the instruction aloud to all players. The instruction may include a task or a topic for reflection.

2. Reflection and Discussion Phase: Players discuss the topics or tasks from the drawn cards. Every opinion is valued, and the goal is for each player to share their thoughts. If all players agree that the task has been collectively fulfilled, the harmony point tracker is increased by one.

3. Encounters: The starting player draws an Encounter Card and conducts an encounter by completing the tasks described. Encounters may include discussions, puzzles, or mini-games that promote collaboration.

4. Move Pawns: After the encounter phase, all players move their pawns ahead by the number of spaces equal to the currently achieved harmony points.

5. Further Phases: The player then continues with phases 2 to 4 until the midnight field is reached.

End of the Game

The game ends when all pawns reach the Midnight Field on the game board. The players win if they have reached the maximum number of harmony points at that time. If no consensus is reached earlier, the game is considered not won.
