Objective of the Game

In Norderwind, players take on the role of captains maneuvering their ships to fulfill contracts and earn victory points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Game Components

• 1 game board
• 4 player boards (one for each player)
• 3 ships (cardboard figurines) in each color
• Various goods, passenger, and pirate cards
• Victory point markers
• Coins

Setup

1. Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Each player takes a player board and the corresponding ships.
3. Shuffle the goods, passenger, and pirate cards and place them as face-down draw piles.
4. Each player receives starting capital in the form of coins.

Gameplay

Norderwind is played over several rounds, and in each round, players take turns executing their moves.

Player Turn

1. Movement: The player moves one of their ships on the board. The movement range depends on the ship's equipment.
2. Fulfill Contracts: Upon reaching a port, the player can fulfill contracts by delivering the corresponding goods and passengers. This earns victory points and often additional coins.
3. Fight Pirates: If the ship lands on a pirate space, the player can choose to fight the pirate. The outcome of the battle is determined by dice rolls, offering additional rewards upon success.
4. Upgrade Ship: The player can upgrade their ship in certain ports, enhancing its range and capacity, making it more effective in achieving the game's goals.

End of the Game

The game ends when a player reaches a predetermined number of victory points or when all contracts are fulfilled. The player with the most victory points wins.
