Objective of the Game
Qwinto is a dice game where players aim to score as many points as possible by strategically entering numbers on their score sheets.
Game Components
- 3 dice: Each die has a different color - Orange, Yellow, and Purple.
- Score sheets for each player
- Pens
Setup
- Each player receives a score sheet and a pen.
- Place the dice within easy reach.
- Choose a starting player.
Game Sequence
The game is played over several rounds. In each round, the following happens: 1. The active player decides how many of the three dice they want to roll. They can choose to roll one, two, or all three dice. 2. The active player rolls the chosen dice. 3. All players (not just the active player) record the sum of the visible dice on their score sheet - but only in one of the three horizontal rows corresponding to the color of the dice rolled. - Rule: The numbers in each row must be in strictly ascending order (i.e., values must increase from left to right). - Rule: Each number can appear only once in a row. - Rule: Certain fields are outlined in color and may only be filled with the number corresponding to that specific die color. 4. If a player cannot or does not want to record the dice sum, they receive a penalty and cross off one box on the lower edge of their score sheet. 5. The next player clockwise becomes the new active player.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player completes two full rows or after any player receives 4 penalties.
Scoring
- Rows: Each completed row scores points equal to the sum of all numbers in that row.
- Bonus Fields: Completed rows with colored fields give double the point value of those specific fields.
- Penalties: Each penalty results in -5 points.
- The player with the most points wins the game.
Tips and Strategy
- Risk Assessment: Rolling more dice can result in higher sums but also increases entry difficulty.
- Evaluate Non-Active Player Potential: Benefit from your opponents' rolls by adjusting your strategy.
- Foresight: Leave space for potentially higher future dice values.
