Objective

The Mind is a cooperative card game where the objective is to successfully complete all levels by playing cards in ascending order - all without communicating with each other.

Game Components

  • Cards numbered 1 to 100
  • Number of level cards according to the number of players
  • Lives: Lives indicator cards that signify how many mistakes the team is allowed
  • Throwing Stars: Star tokens that allow skipping of a sequence of numbers

Setup

  1. Players receive a certain number of lives and throwing stars based on the number of players.
  2. The cards from 1 to 100 are shuffled, and each player receives a card at the beginning for level one.
  3. The game is structured into levels, each getting harder as you go. In each level, players are dealt a number of cards equal to the level number (e.g., one card in the first level, two cards in the second, etc.).

Gameplay

  1. At the start of a level, players look at their cards without showing them to others.
  2. Without communicating, players must place their cards face up in the middle in ascending order.
  3. Each player tries to "feel" when it is their turn to play their lowest card.
  4. A player places a card down when they think their card is the next lowest.
  5. Once a card is placed, no additional discussions or gestures are allowed.
  6. If a card is played wrongly (e.g., another player holds a lower card), the team loses a life.
  7. Players complete the level and move to the next when all cards of the level are played correctly.

Special Rules

  • Throwing Stars can be used by players at any time during the level to voluntarily show their lowest card, helping them better assess the sequence of their fellow players' cards.

Winning the Game

Players win by completing the highest level before losing all their lives.

Strategy Tips

  • Develop a sense of timing: Since communication is not allowed, it's crucial to develop a sense of the group's rhythm.
  • Observe keenly: Interpret the body language and small reactions of your fellow players as accurately as possible.
  • Use throwing stars wisely: These should be strategically saved to rescue tricky situations.
