Objective of the Game
Tschigg is a card game where the objective is to get rid of all your cards and amass as few penalty points as possible. The game involves a special die that affects card values.
Game Materials
- A deck of cards consisting of two suits, with each suit having values ranging from 2 to 14 (Ace).
- A six-sided die with special symbols instead of numbers.
Setup
- Shuffle the cards thoroughly and deal seven cards to each player.
- Place the remaining deck face-down as the draw pile.
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the game.
Game Play
- Play proceeds clockwise around the table.
- Rolling the Die: At the start of each player's turn, the die is rolled. The die indicates which suit must be played.
- Playing a Card: The player lays down a matching card of the rolled suit. If the player cannot, they must draw a card from the draw pile.
- Special Die Symbols:
- Some symbols allow the player to play any suit of their choice.
- Some symbols might mean the next player is skipped.
- The first player to play all their cards ends the round, and other players sum the values of their remaining cards as penalty points.
End of the Game
The game is played over several rounds. At the end of each round, scores are tallied, and a new round begins. The game ends when a player reaches a predetermined number of penalty points (typically 50 or 100). The player with the fewest points wins.
