Instructions Stone Age Junior

Objective of the Game

The goal of Stone Age Junior is to be the first player to build three huts in your village. Players achieve this by collecting resources and trading them.

Game Components

• 1 game board
• 4 player figures (tribe members)
• 2 dog tokens
• 12 hut tiles
• 28 resource tokens (wood, brick, fish, berries)
• 1 starting player token
• 24 landscape tiles

Setup

1. Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Arrange the resource tokens by type (wood, brick, fish, berries) next to the board.
3. Shuffle the landscape tiles and distribute them face down around the board.
4. Each player selects a figure and places it on the start field.
5. Place the 12 hut tiles shuffled in a stack next to the board.
6. The youngest player receives the starting player token and begins the game.

Gameplay

Stone Age Junior is played in clockwise order. The active player performs the following steps:

1. Reveal a Landscape Tile:

   • The player chooses one of the face-down landscape tiles and flips it over. This determines which space the player moves their figure to.
   • Possible spaces:
   • Resource Fields (Wood, Brick, Fish, Berries): The player takes the corresponding resource token.
   • Market: Here, the player can trade one resource for another or for a dog token.
   • Construction Site: The player can build a hut if they have the required resources.

2. Perform Action:

   • Resource Field: The player collects the specified resource.
   • Market: The player may trade resources needed to build huts.
   • Construction Site: If the player has the required resources for a hut, they hand them in and take the top hut tile.

3. End of Game:

   • A player has built three huts. They win the game.

• Collection: Gather a variety of resources to be flexible in trading.
• Trading Rules: Be strategic in using the dog tokens, which can replace two resources.
• Planning: Consider your moves carefully to best utilize your resources.
