Objective of the Game
Settrio is a strategic tile-laying game where players aim to score points by cleverly placing their tiles on a grid. The objective is to gather the most points by forming rows and combinations of numbers and symbols.
Game Components
- A game board with a 9x9 grid
- A set of 72 tiles with different symbols and numbers
- A score track and markers for tracking points
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Shuffle the tiles thoroughly and deal 18 tiles face-down to each player.
- Each player draws 5 tiles from their stack and keeps them hidden from others.
- The remaining tiles form the communal draw pile.
Gameplay
Settrio is played in turns, starting with the first player and proceeding clockwise.
- Placing Tiles:
- At the beginning of a turn, the player places at least one tile on any empty space on the board.
- The goal is to form rows of three or more tiles with matching features – either identical numbers or symbols.

Only vertical, horizontal, and diagonal lines count as valid combinations.

Scoring:
- For each completed row, the player scores points immediately:
- A row of three tiles scores 3 points,
- A row of four tiles scores 6 points,
- A row of five or more tiles scores 10 points.

If the player creates multiple rows with a single move, all combination points are added together.

Drawing Tiles:
- After placing tiles, the player draws back up to 5 tiles.

If a player cannot place a valid combination, they must discard their hand and draw five new tiles, losing their turn.

End of Game:
- The game ends when there are no more tiles to draw or the board is completely filled.
- The player with the most points wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Planning: Plan your moves to give yourself more options in future rounds. Avoid blocking yourself.
- Flexibility: Balance quick point scoring from small combinations with preparing for larger combinations.
- Blocking: Try to limit your opponents' possible moves by blocking critical spaces.
