Objective of the Game:
In Gigamon, players try to collect Gigamons by uncovering pairs of Elemons. The aim is to be the first to gather three Gigamons.
Setup:
- Game Board Setup: Shuffle the 42 Elemon cards and place 9 cards face down in a 3x3 grid on the table. The remaining cards form the draw pile.
- Each player chooses a color and receives an overview board to track collected Gigamons.
Gameplay:
Starting a Round:
-
Player's Turn: The active player is allowed to flip two cards.
-
Comparing Cards:
- If both Elemons are the same, the player takes both cards and adds them to their collection. As a reward, they may use the special effect of the Elemon (see "Elemon Effects"). Then, they draw two new cards from the pile and place them face down in the emptied spaces.
-
If the two Elemons are different, they are turned face down again.
-
The game continues clockwise.
Elemon Effects:
Each Elemon has a special ability that the player may use:
- Lavamon: Draw an extra card and reveal it.
- Aquamon: Look at three face-down cards and return them.
- Leafmon: Take an Elemon card from another player.
- Stonemon: Move a face-down card to another space.
- Heliomon: Flip three cards, keep a matching pair, and return the rest.
- Furrymon: Swap a card with another player.
- Zapmon: Look at another player's cards.
Collecting Gigamon:
- When a player has three of the same Elemons, they can trade them for the corresponding Gigamon. The player places this Gigamon on their overview board.
End of the Game:
The game ends immediately when a player collects their third Gigamon. This player is the winner.
Strategy Tips:
- Memory: Remember the positions of uncovered cards to efficiently collect Elemons.
- Planning: Try to gather Elemons in a way that allows you to acquire Gigamons quickly.
- Use Elemon Effects strategically to gain an advantage or to hinder opponents.
- Adaptive Strategy: Since the game relies heavily on memory, adjust your strategy dynamically to the current state of the game.
Enjoy collecting the Gigamons!
