Gameplay
The game consists of four chapters, each with several rounds:
-
Start Chapter: Begin by shuffling and placing the event cards.
-
Start Round: At the start of each round, an event card is revealed, defining the events for the round and influencing the game's progress. This card indicates which parish the king visits and what taxes are collected.
-
Production Phase: Players receive income and produce resources based on their buildings.
-
Action Phase: Each player takes turns performing actions, such as building structures, acquiring resources, or managing diseases. Strategic thinking is crucial here as the order of actions significantly impacts the game.
-
Building Phase: Players can construct buildings that provide advantages for future rounds.
-
End of Chapter: The chapter ends after all event cards of the chapter are dealt with. Each chapter has unique challenges and victory conditions to be met.
