Objective of the Game
The objective of "Jagd auf Kohlenklau" is to catch Kohlenklau by navigating strategically across the game board. Each player takes on the role of either the hunter or helps Kohlenklau in his escape.
Game Setup
Players arrange the game board divided into different areas. Each role has different starting positions. Kohlenklau has several hideouts on the board dispersed as escape points. Hunters start from designated positions around the board's edge.
Components
- A game board with different areas and hideouts
- Player pieces for the hunters and Kohlenklau
- Event cards that trigger specific situations or provide advantages
Gameplay
Starting the Game
- Assigning Roles: One player assumes the role of Kohlenklau, while the other players act as hunters.
- Placement: The Kohlenklau figure is placed at a start position on the board, with hunters placed at their starting positions.
Round Structure
The game is played in rounds, where players take turns moving their pieces and potentially performing actions.
-
Movement: Each turn, all players (both Kohlenklau and the hunters) can move a certain number of spaces. The number of spaces is either determined by rolling dice or predefined movement points.
-
Events: After moving, the player (as per the game rules) draws an event card, which is played immediately. These cards may either facilitate Kohlenklau's escape or help hunters corner him.
-
Actions:
- Hunters can set traps or play other action cards to obstruct Kohlenklau.
- Kohlenklau has the opportunity, once per round, to use a hideout to conceal himself.
Winning Conditions
- Hunters win by capturing Kohlenklau by landing on the space he occupies.
- Kohlenklau wins by surviving for a defined number of game rounds or successfully reaching all hideouts.
Strategic Tips
- Hunters should collaborate closely as a team to block Kohlenklau's escape routes.
- Kohlenklau should smartly use event cards to keep eluding the hunters and create distractions.
"Jagd auf Kohlenklau" is a strategy game requiring both teamwork and individual tactics.
