Objective

The Builders of Arkadia is a strategic board game in which players act as builders aiming to earn the most victory points by constructing buildings and participating in the construction of the grand palace of Arkadia.

Setup

1. Game Board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Building Tiles: Shuffle the building tiles to form a facedown stack.
3. Resources: Place the cloth, wood, stone, and metal crates at the side. These are the resources.
4. Player Figures: Each player receives a set of playing figures in a specific color.
5. Farm Tiles: Each player receives three concealed farm tiles.
6. Palace Foundations: Place the palace foundations in the center of the board.
7. Seals: Each player positions their seals on the palace plan according to the player order.
8. Blueprints: Place the blueprints next to the board.

Gameplay

The game is played over a series of rounds, where players take turns performing the following actions:

1. Draw Building Tiles: The player draws a building tile from the stack.
2. Place Building Tiles: The player places the building tile on the board, adjacent to an existing building (the starting tile counts as a building).
3. Place Resources: The player takes resource crates from the supply and places them on the newly placed building tile, according to the number of blueprints.
4. Place Workers: The player can place one or more of their figures from their hand onto open blueprint or building spaces to support construction and thereby claim resources.
5. Relocate Palace Resources: Once enough seals are worked and placed for a palace section, all collected resources are added to the current level of the palace to finally earn points.

Winning Conditions

The game ends when the palace is fully constructed or no more building tiles can be placed. Players then tally their victory points. The player with the most victory points wins.

Strategic Considerations

• Resource Management: The distribution and planning of resource usage can be crucial. Keep an eye on your supply.
• Worker Placement: Position your workers to achieve a balance between immediate gains and long-term planning.
• Timing: Carefully consider when to complete a palace or building section to fully benefit from resource and score advantages.
