Objective of the Game

The objective in Monster-Pups is to get rid of all your cards by playing them according to specific rules onto the discard pile. The first player to have no cards left in their hand wins the game.

Game Components

• Cards: The game includes a total of 50 cards, which come in various colors and are numbered from 1 to 10.
• Game Board: A simple discard board where all played cards are visible.

Setup

1. Shuffle all cards thoroughly.
2. Deal 5 cards to each player, which they take into their hand face-down.
3. The rest of the cards form the draw pile, which is placed face-down in the middle.
4. Draw the top card from the draw pile and place it face-up next to it as the discard pile.

Gameplay

The following overview describes the typical gameplay:

1. Starting the Game:
2. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game.

3. During each turn, a player must place a card onto the discard pile.

4. Card Laying Rules:

5. A card can only be placed if its color or number matches that of the top card on the discard pile.

6. Action Cards:

7. There are special action cards that can be played:

   • Plus Two (+2): Forces the next player to draw two cards unless they can also play a +2.
   • Reverse: Changes the direction of play (from clockwise to counter-clockwise or vice versa).
   • Skip: The next player is skipped.

8. Drawing Cards:

9. If a player cannot play a suitable card, they must draw one from the draw pile.
10. If the drawn card is playable, they may play it immediately.

11. Otherwise, their turn ends.

13. The game continues clockwise until a player has no cards left.

Winning Conditions

• The player who runs out of cards first wins the round.
• If the draw pile is exhausted, shuffle the discard pile (except the top card) to form a new draw pile.
