Objective of the Game

Armageddon is a strategic board game where players must build and manage a settlement in a post-apocalyptic world. The goal is to accumulate the most victory points by efficiently managing resources, defending against raiders, and expanding your settlement.

Setup

1. Set up the board: Place the game board in the center of the playing area.
2. Resources and markers: Each player receives a set of resources, construction, and defense markers in their chosen color.
3. Cards: Shuffle the technology and event cards and keep them ready.
4. Starting materials: Each player gets a starting amount of resources and settlers as described in the game's instructions.

Game Flow

The game is played over several rounds, each consisting of various phases:

1. Event Phase

• Draw an event card and read it aloud. The effects apply to all players and can influence the game through raider attacks, resource changes, or special challenges.

2. Work Phase

• Players assign their settlers to gather resources or develop technologies. The number of settlers needed varies depending on the actions they choose to undertake.
• Possible actions include resource extraction, trading, or recruiting new settlers.

3. Construction Phase

• Players use their collected resources to build structures or strengthen defenses against raiders. The better the defenses, the less severe the impact of raider attacks.
• Each building grants specific benefits, such as additional resources or victory points.

4. Defense Phase

• Players must defend against the raider attacks announced in the event phase. Compare the strength of the defense with the raiders’ attack strength.
• For each undefended attack point, players lose resources or settlers.

5. Cleanup Phase

• All temporary markers are removed from the board, and players prepare for the next round. Any collected victory points are recorded.

End of the Game and Scoring

The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds or when a player fills all their construction slots. Victory points are determined as follows:

• Buildings: Each building provides a certain number of victory points.
• Technologies: Certain technologies grant additional points.
• Defense: Consistent success in defense contributes to the score as well.

The player with the most victory points wins the game and is considered the most successful leader of the post-apocalypse.
