Objective of the Game:
Hazard is an ancient dice game played for stakes of money or chips. The objective is to achieve a winning combination based on dice rolls and win the stake.
Setup:
- Players: The game can be played with any number of players, but at least two players are necessary.
- Materials: You need two six-sided dice.
Gameplay:
- Choose a Banker: One of the players acts as the Banker and sets the stake. The stake is determined by the Banker, and other players decide whether to match it.
- Opening: The Banker has two options for each new round – they can say "Corne" or "Ace" before rolling the dice.
- First Roll: The Banker rolls the two dice to determine the Opening Number (Point). It can be:
- For "Corne": Opening numbers are 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9.
- For "Ace": Opening numbers are 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10.
- Challenge Opening Number or Hazard: If the opening roll is a number that is neither a valid opening number nor a Hazard (such as 2 or 12), the Banker loses immediately, and the next player becomes the Banker.
- Continuation:
- If the Banker rolls a valid opening number, it is known as the "Main".
- The Banker then rolls again to try and roll the Main again before rolling a 7, which results in a loss.
- Winning or Losing:
- Winning: The Banker wins if they roll their Main again before rolling a 7.
- Losing: The Banker loses if they roll a 7 before rolling the Main again.
- Role Change: When either outcome is achieved, the next player or a volunteer takes over as the Banker.
Tips and Strategy:
- Bet Consideration: Players should place bets based on the probability of winning with the various opening numbers.
- Choosing the Main: Select an opening number you feel comfortable rolling again, but remember that the number of winning Main rolls likely impacts your risk of losing by rolling a 7.
- Beware of 7: As rolling a 7 is a common result, the Banker should be cautious of this risk.
Hazard is a game with a high element of luck and involves stakes. However, by employing strategic thought regarding probabilities and wagers, it can become more exciting and somewhat predictable.
