Objective of the Game

"Linie 1" is a strategic board game where players are challenged to build a functional tram line across a variable city map. The goal is to connect the endpoints of a secret ticket by skilfully laying track cards, aiming to achieve this faster than other players.

Game Components

• A game board with a network of tram tracks on a city map.
• Track Cards: Cards that represent segments of the track.
• Destination Cards: Cards that specify the start and endpoints for the tram lines.
• Tram tokens for each player.
• Play money or point tokens.

Setup

1. Set up the board in the center of the table.
2. Each player chooses a tram token.
3. Shuffle the destination cards and deal them face down, one to each player. Keep these cards secret.
4. Shuffle the track cards and distribute them evenly among players.

Game Play

The game proceeds in turns, moving clockwise.

1. Laying Tracks: On your turn, you can play track cards to build tram tracks. The track segments must connect to existing tracks or start at an endpoint.

2. Reaching Your Destination: If you believe your tram line is complete between the two endpoints specified on your card, place your tram token to test the connection.

3. Verification and Scoring: The other players verify your connection. If correct, you score points. If incorrect, you must wait until the next turn to complete it, after playing more cards.

Special Features and Strategic Tips

• Planning: Since your destination card is secret, work discreetly on your goal while keeping opponents unsure about potential destinations.
• Blocking: You can block potentially useful track segments for others to delay their progress.
• Variety: The track cards are diverse, and you may not always get the perfect cards to ensure a quick run. Flexibility is key.

End of the Game

The game ends once a player has successfully completed their destination card by connecting the two endpoints with their tram. The player with the most points at the end is the winner.
