Objective of the Game
Weiß/Schwarz is an exciting card game where players use skillful card play and clever decisions to score the most points.
Setup
- Deck of Cards: The game uses a unique deck consisting of white and black cards with various effects and point values.
- Number of Players: It can be played by 2 to 4 players.
- Starting Hand: Each player starts with 5 cards in hand. The remaining cards are placed as a draw pile in the center.
- Board (Optional): Some versions use a simple board with special spaces that trigger conditions or bonuses.
Gameplay
The game is played over rounds, each consisting of several phases:
- Round Start
- The starting player is determined by a draw for the first round and rotates clockwise in subsequent rounds.
- Playing Cards
- A player plays one card from their hand on the table.
- White cards often have positive effects, like drawing additional cards or increasing points.
- Black cards can have negative effects on opponents, such as forcing them to discard or reducing their points.
- Activating Effects
- After playing a card, the printed effect is immediately triggered. Players must plan their moves to maximize their benefit or hinder opponents.
- Drawing
- At the end of a turn, players draw up to 5 cards, if possible, from the draw pile.
- Additional Actions (with board version)
- Players can additionally move one space every two turns to benefit from board spaces.
End of Round and Scoring
- A round ends when all players have played their cards or can no longer draw.
- Scoring: Players total the points on their cards played. White cards add points, black cards may deduct points.
- Bonus Points: Special board spaces or unique cards might add bonuses or prevent deductions.
Game End
- The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds (commonly 5 to 10).
- The player with the highest points wins. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker round is played among those tied.
