Carcassonne: Star Wars Edition - Board Game

Family Game, Strategy

group 2 - 6 Deutsch

Objective

In Carcassonne – Star Wars Edition, the goal is to collect as many victory points as possible by claiming and completing areas. Each area controlled accrues points once it is completed. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Components

  • 76 tiles
  • 6 spaceship minis (in different colors for each player)
  • 8 expansion boards
  • 10 dice head pieces in three colors
  • 1 die
  • 1 scoring track
  • Rulebook

Setup

  1. Each player selects a color and takes all spaceship minis of that color.
  2. The tiles are shuffled and placed in a stack face down.
  3. The scoring track is placed nearby.
  4. Determine the starting player.

Gameplay

The game proceeds in clockwise order. The starting player begins, followed by the others in turn. A player's turn consists of the following steps:

  1. Draw and place tile: Draw the top tile from the stack and place it according to placement rules. It must connect to at least one already placed tile.

  2. Place spaceship mini: Optionally, place one spaceship mini onto the recently placed tile. It can be placed on a feature (planet, asteroid field, or trade route), but only on unclaimed features.

  3. Complete and score: When a feature is completed (e.g., a fully enclosed asteroid field), the player with the majority in that feature scores points:

  4. Planets: Fully completed planets score 2 points per tile.
  5. Asteroid fields: Score 1 point per tile.
  6. Trade routes: Also score 1 point per tile.

  7. Roll dice and battle: Upon completing a feature, a battle may ensue if it involves pieces from more than one player. Players roll dice, and the highest roll claims the feature and scores the points.

Special Rules

  • Rolling dice in battle: Each player rolls dice corresponding to the number of figures they have in the feature. The extra dice head part is used.
  • Special ability cards: These cards can affect dice rolls or tile placement.

Game End

The game ends once the last tile is drawn and placed. Players then score any unfinished features. Points are tallied, and the player with the most points is declared the winner.

Strategic Tips:

  • Carefully choose where to place minis, as they are limited.
  • Quickly close features to block opponents.
  • Use the battle mechanism to make risky but rewarding moves.

Carcassonne – Star Wars Edition combines the classic Carcassonne mechanics with the thrilling Star Wars universe, offering tactical elements through dice battles and conflict between pieces. Good luck, and may the Force be with you!
