Objective of the Game
The aim of Bieten (Bidding) is to score the most points by skillfully bidding and making strategic decisions. The game is typically played with a set of cards or tiles that offer different values or advantages. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Setup
-
Game Components: The game consists of a deck of cards or a set of tiles, each displaying various values, bonuses, or abilities.
-
Distribution: Each player is given a certain number of markers or chips to use as currency for bidding.
-
Card/Tiled Deck: Shuffle the deck or set of tiles well and place them as a face-down stack.
-
Starting Player: Randomly determine a starting player.
Gameplay
-
Start of a Round: At the beginning of each round, flip over one card or tile from the stack. This is the object available for bidding.
-
Bidding:
- Starting with the starting player, players take turns to place bids. The bid must at least match the current highest bid, but can be higher.
- Players who do not want to bid further may pass, exiting the round.
-
The player with the highest bid wins the card/tile.
-
Securing the Winning Card: The winning player places the card/tile face-up in front of them and matches their bid using their markers/chips.
-
Next Round: The next player clockwise becomes the new starting player, and a new round begins.
End of the Game
The game ends when all cards/tiles have been auctioned. Players then tally the values of their won cards/tiles and add any bonuses or special abilities.
Scoring
Each player sums up the value of their cards/tiles plus any earned bonuses. This final score determines the winner.
Strategic Tips
- Bid Planning: Players should use their markers/chips wisely, as excessive spending can quickly deplete resources.
- Bluffing: Under- or overbid to confuse or provoke other players.
- Risk Assessment: Decide when a bid is high enough to secure it without using unnecessary resources.
Bieten is an exciting game that combines strategic planning with a bit of luck. Enjoy playing!
