Objective of the Game

Free Bet Blackjack is a variant of the classic Blackjack, where players aim to beat the dealer by having a hand value higher than the dealer's without exceeding 21. The key feature of this variation is that players are offered free doubles and splits under specific conditions.

Game Materials

  • Deck of Cards: One or multiple standard decks (52 cards each).
  • Shoe: To hold and distribute the cards.
  • Chips: Used for placing bets.

Basic Rules

  1. Objective: Achieve a hand value as close to 21 as possible without exceeding it, and beat the dealer’s hand value.
  2. Card Values:
  3. Number cards: Face value shown on the card
  4. Face cards (King, Queen, Jack): Worth 10 points each
  5. Ace: 1 or 11 points, whichever is more beneficial for your hand
  6. Game Start: Each player places a bet. The dealer deals two cards to each player and two to themselves, with one card face-up and one face-down.

Free Double and Split Options

  • Free Double: You can double down for free on hard totals of 9, 10 or 11. You receive one additional card.
  • Free Split: You can split for free pairs of twos, threes, sixes, sevens, eights, and aces. Each new hand receives an additional card.

Additional Rules

  • Blackjack: A combination of an Ace and any 10-point card is called a "Blackjack" and pays 3:2.
  • Insurance: If the dealer’s face-up card is an Ace, players can take insurance against the dealer having a Blackjack. It pays 2:1 if the dealer does have Blackjack.
  • Surrender Option: In some variations, players can surrender after the initial two cards, receiving half of their bet back.
  • Dealer Rules: The dealer must hit until they reach at least 17 points. They must stand on a "soft 17" (Ace+6).

Strategic Tips

  • Doubling Down: Use the Free Double option wisely, especially if the dealer’s up card is weak (2 through 6).
  • Splitting: Pay attention to which hands can be split for free; especially splitting eights or aces can be advantageous.
  • Insurance: Generally not recommended as it doesn’t offer long-term profitability.

With these fundamental rules and tips, you should be well-equipped to play Free Bet Blackjack and potentially reduce the house edge to your favor!
