Objective of the Game

Der König der Diebe is a competitive board game where players take on the role of thieves trying to accumulate the largest treasure. Each player aims to be the richest thief by the end of the game to be crowned the King of Thieves.

Game Components

• 1 Game board with various areas
• Each player receives a pawn
• Treasure cards with different values
• Event cards
• Special ability cards
• Dice
• Game money

Setup

1. Set Up the Game Board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Shuffle Treasure Cards and place them face down on the designated space on the board.
3. Each player takes a pawn for moving across the board.
4. Starting Capital: Each player receives a fixed amount of starting cash.
5. Shuffle the Event Cards and place them face down next to the board.
6. Prepare the dice and stacks of special ability cards.

Gameplay

• The game is played in a clockwise direction.
• At the start of their turn, players roll a dice and move their pawn accordingly.
• If a player lands on a Treasure Space, they draw a treasure card and add its value to their collected treasures.
• Event Spaces require players to draw an event card and follow its instructions, which can have positive or negative consequences.
• Some spaces allow access to Special Ability Cards, which have unique effects that can be used strategically.

Special Rules

• Trading: Players can trade treasures with each other to complete their collections or gain strategic advantages.
• Raid Mode: Players may challenge others to steal part of their treasure. The winner is determined by a dice roll, with special ability cards able to influence the outcome.

End of the Game

The game ends when all treasure cards are used up, or a set number of rounds have been played. All players add up the value of their collected treasures along with their remaining cash. The player with the highest total is declared the King of Thieves.

Strategy and Tips

• Plan Ahead: Keep your special ability cards for critical moments, especially raids.
• Track Event Cards: Try to remember which event cards have already been played.
• Trade Wisely: Only trade if it significantly benefits your total value.
