Objective of the Game

In "The Deadlies", the goal is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards. Players use card representations of the seven deadly sins to either contain them or pass them on to other players.

Components

• 135 Cards (in seven colors/themes, one for each deadly sin: Pride, Gluttony, Envy, Greed, Lust, Wrath, and Sloth)
• Number of Players: 3 to 5

Setup

1. Each player starts with 7 cards in hand.
2. The remaining cards form the draw pile. The top card is placed face-up to form the discard pile.

Gameplay

Play proceeds clockwise around the table. Each turn, a player has the following actions:

1. Play Cards:
2. Place one or more cards on the discard pile.
3. You can either discard identical cards (e.g., multiple Envy cards) or a complete set (one card of each sin).
4. Trigger a Special Ability:

5. Most cards have special abilities that can be triggered under certain conditions, affecting either your state or that of an opponent.

6. Draw Cards (if necessary):

7. If unable to play cards, draw the number of cards determined by the rules or dictated by the previous player's effect (at least one card).

Special Rules & Strategic Insights

• Double Pride Cards: Allow you to perform double actions.
• Wrath: Can be used to force an opponent to draw cards.
• Gluttony: Can act as a wild card, completing sets.
• Once a complete set is played, all players may be forced to draw cards based on the chosen sin.
• Discard and Draw Piles: If the draw pile is exhausted, shuffle the discard pile to form a new draw pile.

Ending the Game

The game ends when a player discards all their cards. That player wins the round.

Tips

• Watch your opponents: Pay attention to which cards they discard frequently to gauge which sins they might still have.
• Use special abilities wisely: A well-timed Envy could grant a major advantage, especially when large draws are required.
