Objective of the Game
The objective of "Leutula" is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Game Materials
For this game, you need a standard deck of 52 playing cards. The suits do not matter; only the values are relevant.
Number of Players
The game can be played with 3 to 6 players.
Preparation
- Shuffle the deck thoroughly.
- Deal the cards evenly among all players. With 5 players, some cards might remain, which are placed face down in the center and will not be used in this round.
Game Flow
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing the first card from their hand face up on the table.
- In clockwise order, the next player places one of their cards on top of the discard pile. There are specific rules to follow:
- You must play a card of a higher value than the card showing.
- If you cannot play a suitable card, you must place one card from your hand face down under the discard pile.
- The round ends when all players have passed or no cards are left in hand.
- The last player to play a card dictates the next round's starting card.
Special Card Rules
- 2: Can be played at any time, overriding current rules.
- 8: The next player must skip their turn.
Strategic Tips
- Try not to play high cards too early, as you might need them later in the game.
- Keep track of which special cards (like the 2 or 8) are still in play to better strategize your moves.
End of the Game
The game ends as soon as a player has no cards left. This player is the winner.
