Instructions Leutula

- Card Game (French Deck)

Family Game, Luck-based Game

group 3 - 6 Deutsch

Objective of the Game

The objective of "Leutula" is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.

Game Materials

For this game, you need a standard deck of 52 playing cards. The suits do not matter; only the values are relevant.

Number of Players

The game can be played with 3 to 6 players.

Preparation

  1. Shuffle the deck thoroughly.
  2. Deal the cards evenly among all players. With 5 players, some cards might remain, which are placed face down in the center and will not be used in this round.

Game Flow

  1. The player to the left of the dealer starts the game by playing the first card from their hand face up on the table.
  2. In clockwise order, the next player places one of their cards on top of the discard pile. There are specific rules to follow:
  3. You must play a card of a higher value than the card showing.
  4. If you cannot play a suitable card, you must place one card from your hand face down under the discard pile.
  5. The round ends when all players have passed or no cards are left in hand.
  6. The last player to play a card dictates the next round's starting card.

Special Card Rules

  • 2: Can be played at any time, overriding current rules.
  • 8: The next player must skip their turn.

Strategic Tips

  • Try not to play high cards too early, as you might need them later in the game.
  • Keep track of which special cards (like the 2 or 8) are still in play to better strategize your moves.

End of the Game

The game ends as soon as a player has no cards left. This player is the winner.
