Objective of the Game

Blitz und Donner (also known as "Thor & Zeus") is a strategic card game in which players aim to find and defeat the opponent's last remaining creature card. Players assume the roles of gods Thor and Zeus, using creatures, magical artifacts, and powerful lightning bolts to achieve victory.

Setup

Each player receives a personal deck of 50 cards, consisting of creatures, artifacts, and lightning bolts. Shuffle your cards well and draw 10 cards into your hand. The rest forms your draw pile.

Gameplay

• Turn Sequence: Players take turns in alternating order. A turn consists of the following steps:
• Draw Phase: Draw 3 cards from your deck. If the deck is empty, shuffle the discard pile to create a new draw pile.
• Planning Phase: Play as many creature cards as you like facedown in front of you. Each creature card has a face orientation indicating when it can attack or defend.
• Action Phase: Perform up to three actions, such as attacking with a creature, playing lightning bolt cards, or activating artifacts.
• End Phase: End your turn by discarding excess cards to not exceed the hand limit of 10.

Actions in Detail

• Attack: Choose an open creature and attack an opponent's creature. Compare the strength of both creatures. The weaker creature is destroyed. In case of a tie, both are destroyed.
• Lightning Bolt Cards: Play lightning bolt cards for immediate effects. These can directly destroy creatures or affect their owner.
• Artifacts: Activate artifacts for ongoing bonuses or abilities.

Winning Conditions

The game ends when a player successfully reveals and defeats the opponent's last creature card.

Strategic Tips

• Bluffing: Deceive your opponent by playing weak creatures facedown. They might waste their strongest attackers.
• Resource Management: Master the timing of your actions and keep an eye on your card reserve to keep constant pressure.
• Setting Priorities: Carefully decide whether a direct attack or the use of a powerful artifact makes more sense, based on the course of the game.
