Objective
The objective in Lotti Karotti is for players to be the first to get one of their rabbits to the top of the hill and grab the juicy carrot.
Components
- 1 game board shaped like a hill with a rotating carrot on top.
- Several rabbit-shaped playing pieces in different colors.
- A deck of action cards that determine movement.
Setup
- Each player selects a color and receives four rabbits in that color.
- Place all rabbits at the starting field of the path leading up to the carrot.
- Shuffle the action cards and place them as a face-down deck.
Game Play
- Turn Order: Play proceeds clockwise around the table.
- Player's Turn:
- Draw the top card from the deck and perform the indicated action.
-
There are two types of cards:
- Movement Cards: Show a number (1 to 3). Move one of your rabbits forward by the indicated number of spaces.
- Carrot Card: Twist the large carrot on the hill one turn clockwise. This action may cause moving holes on the board to open, causing rabbits to fall in and be eliminated from the game.
-
Special Rules:
- If a rabbit falls into a hole, it is removed from the game and cannot be used anymore.
- Multiple rabbits can occupy the same space.
End of the Game
The game ends when one player gets one of their rabbits to the last space before the carrot and grabs it.
Strategic Tips
- Positioning: Try to spread your rabbits across different spaces to minimize the risk of losing several at once.
- Risk Management: At times, it may be beneficial to hold one rabbit back to gain a surprise victory at the end.
Special Features
Lotti Karotti is a luck-based game but serves as an excellent family game because it’s quick, easy to understand, and develops decision-making skills in children.
