Objective
Microworld is a strategic board game for two players, where the goal is to control a microbial universe. The aim is to outscore your opponent by strategically placing and moving your organisms.
Components
- 1 game board with a grid for organism movements
- 2 sets of game pieces, each in 2 colors
- Various cards that allow special actions
Gameplay
Microworld is played in alternating turns, starting with the first player, who is determined randomly.
-
Initial Setup: Both players alternately place their organisms on the board, starting from their respective starting positions.
-
Turn Phase: A turn consists of either moving or duplicating an organism on the board:
- Movement: An organism can be moved to an adjacent empty space.
-
Duplication: Under certain conditions (depending on the surrounding fields), an organism can be duplicated by placing a new piece on an adjacent empty field.
-
Using Action Cards: Players can play one action card from their hand per turn, granting specific advantages or possibilities.
-
Scoring: After a player completes their turn, check for new points gained through controlling key areas or eliminating opponent organisms.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player can no longer make moves or when all fields on the board are controlled. The player with the most points wins.
Strategic Tips
- Control the Center: Dominating the center of the board not only awards points but also provides movement options.
- Aggressive Duplication: Use the duplication ability offensively to quickly expand your influence.
- Use Action Cards Effectively: Don't hesitate to use powerful cards even if the timing isn't perfect, as they can turn the tide.
This game is ideal for players who enjoy tactical thinking and forward-planning.
