Objective of the Game

The main objective of "The Market of Alturien" is to score the most victory points through clever trading and strategic placement. Players earn points by fulfilling trade orders, collecting resources, and developing market stalls.

Components

The game includes: - A game board representing the Market of Alturien with various fields for resources and orders. - A set of resource markers of five different types: Wood, Stone, Spices, Cloth, Gems. - Trade Order Cards requiring different combinations of resources. - Market Stall Cards providing players with special abilities. - Player markers in various colors. - An hourglass for timed mode (optional).

Setup

• Place the game board in the center of the table.
• Shuffle the trade orders and distribute a set number face-up according to the number of players on the board.
• Place the resource markers in the center.
• Each player chooses a color and receives the matching player markers and 2 random Market Stall cards.
• The starting player is chosen randomly.

Gameplay

The game progresses over several rounds, each consisting of the following phases:

2. Players take turns drawing one resource marker from the central supply.

3. Players may trade resources with each other or for a minor fee from the reserve.

5. Players can perform one of the following actions:

   • Fulfill a trade order: Submit the required resources and receive the victory points indicated.
   • Build a market stall (maximum of 3 stalls per player): Pay the resource cost and place the card in front of you to receive future bonuses.
   • Utilize market stalls: Activated stalls provide advantages such as extra resources or trade discounts.

7. At the end of each round, check if a player has exceeded the victory point threshold for the game's end.
8. If so, complete this last round and proceed to the final scoring.

End of the Game and Scoring

The game ends when a player reaches the pre-determined victory point threshold or when all trade orders have been completed. The threshold may vary depending on the number of players.

At the end of the game, players tally the victory points from their completed orders. Additional bonuses are awarded for various market stall sets or unused resources.
