Objective of the Game
In Minecraft: Builders & Biomes, the objective is to score points by collecting resources, constructing buildings, and defeating mobs. The player with the most points at the end wins.
Game Components
- Game Board featuring a grid of 3x3 biomes
- Building and Mob Cards
- Resource Blocks made of wood, stacked in the middle of the play area
- Player Figures for each participant
- Player Reference Cards
- Score Sheets
Setup
- Stacking the Blocks: The resource blocks are stacked into a 4x4x4 cube in the center of the table.
- Laying Out the Cards: Shuffle the building and mob cards thoroughly and lay them out in a 3x3 grid from each side facing the biomes.
- Placing Figures: Each player chooses a figure and places it at one corner of the grid.
- Distributing Reference and Score Sheets: Distribute one player reference card and score sheet to each player.
Gameplay
The game is played in turns. Starting with the first player and going clockwise, each player performs two of the following actions on their turn:
- Collecting Blocks: Take one block from the outer side of the resource cube.
- Building: Acquire and place a building card from your surrounding by paying the indicated blocks on the card.
- Moving and Revealing: Move up to two spaces orthogonally (horizontally or vertically) and reveal any adjacent cards.
- Fighting Mobs: Fight a mob by flipping over player result cards, which must contain enough swords to meet or exceed the mob's defense value.
Scoring
During the game, there are three scoring rounds:
- Structure Scoring: Points are based on the largest connected group of similar buildings.
- Biome Scoring: Points are based on the mobile units in the same biomes.
- Material Scoring: Points are based on the use of rare building materials.
End of the Game
The game ends after the third scoring round. Players tally their points, and the one with the most points wins.
