Objective of the Game
The objective of Vier zu mir! is to be the first player to move all four of your game pieces into your central home base.
Game Components
- 1 Game board featuring a circular track and four "start/home bases"
- 16 Game pieces (4 pieces in each of four different colors)
- 1 Die
Setup
- Each player selects a color and takes the four game pieces of that color.
- These pieces are placed in the corresponding colored starting/home base.
- The die is placed within easy reach.
Rules
- Starting the Game: All players roll the die once. The player with the highest roll starts the game, with play continuing clockwise.
- Movement: A player can only place a game piece on the start field if they roll a six. During their turn, the player rolls the die and moves their pieces forward the rolled number of spaces.
- Rolling a Six: The player can either place a new piece on the board or move an already placed piece forward six spaces. Rolling a six also grants the player another roll of the die.
- Capturing (or Sending Back): If a player lands on a space occupied by an opponent's piece, the opponent's piece is sent back to its respective starting/home base.
- Winning the Game: The first player to successfully move all four of their pieces into their central home wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Prioritize Moves: It's often advantageous to bring as many pieces onto the board as possible when rolling sixes to allow greater movement flexibility.
- Risk and Reward: Consider whether risky moves to capture opponent pieces will benefit you or if it's better to secure safer positions.
- Piece Distribution: Spread out your pieces along the board to provide more options during your turn.
Special Features
- The game board may feature special spaces with additional actions. These are marked on the board and explained in the rules.
Vier zu mir! is a simple and enjoyable game suited for both children and adults, combining both strategy and luck.
