Objective of the Game
The objective of the game Kaschlan is to accumulate the most points by developing strategies and making tactically intelligent decisions. Each player must try to control the largest area of influence by cleverly placing and taking over fields.
Setup
- Set up the board: The game board consists of many small, square fields. Place the board in the middle of the table. Each player gets an equal number of game pieces in a specific color.
- Determine starting positions: Each player chooses a starting position on the board. These positions should be evenly distributed to ensure fairness.
- Distribute game pieces: Each player receives a set of uniquely colored pieces.
Game Rules
- Round Procedure: The game progresses in rounds. In each round, each player in turn places a piece on the board.
- Making Moves: A piece can be placed on an empty field or on a field already occupied by an opponent's piece to take it over. When a piece is overlaid by another piece, control of that field switches.
- Move Restrictions: A player may not take over two adjacent fields in one move.
- Bonus Fields: Some fields on the board offer special bonuses or penalties. These fields are known in advance and should be incorporated into your strategy.
End of the Game
The game ends when all fields are occupied or a predetermined number of rounds is completed. The players' points are counted by adding the number of fields controlled by each player. Bonus fields add extra points or subtract points in the case of penalty fields.

- Plan ahead: Consider how your moves can affect future possibilities.
- Utilize bonus fields: To maximize points, these fields should be made strategically important.
