Objective of the Game
Sternenschiff Catan, also known as "Starship Catan", is a two-player game where players expand their influence in space by exploring sectors, establishing trade agreements, and controlling star systems. The goal of the game is to be the first to achieve 10 victory points.
Game Setup
Each player starts with a starship, a player board, and initial resources that represent goods, trade agreements, and combat power. The player board provides space for expansions and resource indicators.
Game Board
The board consists of various sectors laid out face-down on the table. Each sector contains different planets and potential resources. Players begin in a starting sector.
Gameplay
The game is played in phases as follows:
- Action Phase
- Travel Phase: Draw three exploration tiles and lay them around your starship. You can move your ship to one of these sectors.
- Explore and Trade: When you enter a new sector tile, reveal the card. Depending on the card revealed, you can gather resources, establish trade agreements, or engage in combat.

- Establish trade agreements and colonies in sectors for regular resource income.

- Use your combat cards and expansions. You can attack your opponent to steal resources or break trade agreements.

Winning the Game
The game ends when a player reaches 10 victory points. Victory points are gained by building colonies, completing missions, or winning combat.

- Trade Agreements: These provide passive income of resources and should be utilized efficiently.
- Expansions and Upgrades: Your strategy should focus on continuously expanding your capacities. This can be achieved either by building storage units or upgrading your combat capabilities.
