Objective of the Game
The goal of Dragonheart is to collect victory points by skillfully playing cards. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Setup
- Each player draws 5 cards from their draw pile.
- Place the game board in the center of the table so that all players can see it easily.
- The board has several areas for different types of card actions.
Gameplay
- Players take turns in a clockwise rotation.
- A turn consists of two steps:
- Playing Cards: The player plays one or more cards of the same type onto the corresponding area of the game board.
- Drawing Cards: The player draws new cards from their deck until they have 5 cards in hand again.
Cards and Their Effects
- Cards are placed on specific slots on the game board. Each card has a specific function and triggers an action.
- Card Areas:
- Treasure Chest: Play a treasure card and then draw a treasure token.
- Dragons: Play dragon cards and receive particular bonuses or action possibilities.
- Wizards: Play wizard cards to move dragon cards or achieve other effects.
- When the conditions on the game board are fulfilled, the effect is triggered, granting the player cards or bonus points.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player can no longer draw cards. Then, all players tally their accumulated points. This includes points from treasure tokens and other bonuses.
Strategic Tips
- Try to place your cards smartly on the board to use combination effects.
- Think ahead and plan how you can best use specific bonuses.
- Pay attention to the number of cards remaining in your deck, so you are not caught unprepared at the end of the game.
- Watch what cards your opponent plays to better anticipate their strategy.
