Objective of the Game
Brelan is a card game played with a standard 32-card Skat deck. The main objective of the game is to achieve the best Brelan, which means having the best set of three cards of the same rank. Similar to Poker, the rules of Brelan allow for strategic betting and bluffing.
Preparation
- Number of Players: 3 to 6 players
- Deck: A 32-card Skat deck (cards from 7 to Aces).
Game Play

Shuffle and Deal: Each player receives three cards. The remaining deck is placed face down on the table.

Stake: Before the cards are dealt, each player places a basic stake to start the round.

Round 1 - First Bet: After the cards are dealt, the first betting round begins. The player to the left of the dealer starts the play.

Options: Players can either raise their bet, call the existing bet, or fold by laying down their cards.

Interim Round - Exchange: After the first betting round is complete, each player has the option to discard and draw new cards from the deck:

Exchange: Each player may exchange one, two, or all three of their cards for new ones from the deck.

Round 2 - Second Bet: Another betting round takes place, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

The same options as Round 1: Raise, Call, or Fold.

Showdown: Once the second betting round is concluded, all remaining players reveal their cards. The player with the highest Brelan wins the pot.
- Hand Ranking: From high to low: Triplets (Brelan), Pairs, Highest Card.

- Betting Strategy: Pay attention to opponents' bets to gauge their possible hands.
