Game Play

  1. Setup:
  2. Each player chooses a figurine and places it on the starting field of the game board.
  3. The treasure cards are shuffled and placed face down on the designated spots within the palace.

  4. Turn Sequence:

  5. Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their figurines clockwise around the board according to the dice result.
  6. Special areas in the palace:

    • Main hall: Players can challenge each other to win additional treasures.
    • Library: Players landing here can roll again to reach different areas.
    • Prison: Landing on this field requires the player to skip two turns or give up a treasure to free themselves.
  7. Collecting Treasures:

  8. Landing on a treasure field allows a player to draw a card from the pile and claim the treasure.

  9. End of the Game and Winner:

  10. The game ends when all the treasure cards have been revealed. The player with the most treasure points wins.

Strategic Considerations

  • Target high-value treasures to accumulate points more effectively for a direct win.
  • Strategically challenge opponents in the main hall to steal their treasures, but do so wisely, as losing may hinder your progress.

The game Der Dieb von Bagdad requires both luck in drawing cards and strategy in choosing routes and interactions with other players.
