Instructions Karuba

Objective of the Game

In Karuba, the goal is to guide your adventurers to the temples in the jungle as quickly as possible while collecting as many gold and crystal treasures as you can on the way. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Game Components

• A game board for each player
• 4 adventurer pieces and 4 temple pieces (in 4 different colors)
• 36 jungle tiles, numbered 1 to 36
• Gold nuggets and crystals for collecting treasures

Number of Players

Karuba can be played with 2 to 4 players.

Setup

1. Each player receives a game board.
2. Each player places their 4 adventurer and the matching temple pieces according to the rules:
3. Adventurers are placed on the beach side and temples on the jungle edge.
4. Both adventurers and temples of the same color must be positioned on different edges of the board.
5. All jungle tiles are shuffled and laid face-down.
6. Each player takes a set of jungle tiles and shuffles them into a face-down stack.

Gameplay

1. A player (the "tile leader") draws a jungle tile from their stack and calls out the number.
2. All players find the same tile from their stack and have two options:
3. Place the tile on a free space on their board, creating pathways for their adventurers.
4. Or: Discard the tile to move an adventurer forward as many spaces as paths shown on the tile (1 to 3 spaces).
5. When an adventurer reaches a temple, that player takes the highest available temple reward of that color.
6. If a treasure space is reached, the player takes the treasure and places it on their board.

End of the Game

The game ends when: - A player has led all of their adventurers to the temples. - Or all 36 jungle tiles have been drawn.

At the end of the game, players count: - Points from temple tiles reached. - Plus the gold nuggets collected. - Plus the crystals collected.

Strategic Tips

• Efficient Path Planning: Plan ahead to place your tiles to optimize your paths.
• Set Priorities: Sometimes a direct route to a temple is more valuable than detours that bring extra treasures.
• Resource Management: Use the option to discard tiles for movement wisely to move adventurers to the temples more swiftly.
