Objective
In Fabulantica, players aim to rescue the inhabitants of a magical kingdom who have been scattered across the land due to a miscast spell. Players travel through the land, locating characters and helping them to find their friends again. The game ends when one player completes a set number of help cards.
Game Components
- 1 Game Board representing the world of Fabulantica.
- 6 Player Figures, one for each potential player.
- 54 Travel Cards that indicate ways of movement.
- 42 Hidden Tokens representing inhabitants and locations.
- 24 Help Cards, which indicate the current objectives.
- 4 Castle Cards for additional movement options.
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Shuffle the hidden tokens and place one face down on each location on the board.
- Each player selects a figure and places it on the starting point at the castle.
- Shuffle the help cards and place them in a stack. Each player receives three help cards initially.
- Each player draws five travel cards into their hand.
Game Flow
The game is played clockwise with the following phases for each player's turn:
- Movement:
- Play one or more travel cards to move your figure along the respective paths. Each path has a specific color: Blue (river), Green (path), Red (mountain).

You may only play as many cards as there are segments to your intended destination.

Reveal a Token:
- Upon reaching a location, you may flip over the token there.
- If the token shows an inhabitant, check your help cards to see if this character is needed.

If so, take the token and replace it with a new one from the supply.

Complete Help Cards:
- If you meet the condition described in the help card by finding the correct character, show your card and set it aside.

Immediately draw a new help card.

Draw Travel Cards:
- Draw enough travel cards to refill your hand to five cards.
End of the Game
The game ends once a player completes four help cards. This player is declared the winner and celebrated as the savior of Fabulantica.
Strategic Tips
- Plan your routes carefully. Consider your current position and the number of cards in hand to decide the most efficient route.
- Try to fulfill multiple help cards simultaneously by targeting characters that are in proximity to each other, conserving moves.
- Maintain a balance between drawing and playing travel cards to stay flexible and respond to the movements of other players.
