Objective of the Game
Bukidomino is a creative tile-laying game that combines the familiar rules of classic dominoes with new elements. The objective is to score the most points by strategically placing domino tiles.
Game Materials
- 28 domino tiles (classic set), each half showing a number between 0 and 6.
- Score pad and pencils to record the scores.
Setup
- Shuffle all the domino tiles face down.
- Each player draws 7 tiles initially (the number may vary with fewer players as agreed).
- The remaining tiles form the draw pile.
Gameplay
- The player with the highest double tile begins. If no player has a double, the starter is decided by the highest single value.
- Players take turns placing a tile to match the numbers on the adjacent halves.
Special Rules
- Bridge: Unlike traditional dominoes, tiles can not only be placed in a straight line but also over existing plays. The player must match the numbers on both ends while building upward.
- Blocking: If a player cannot place a suitable tile, they must draw a new tile from the draw pile.
Scoring
Points are awarded at the end of each round based on the configuration of the two aligned ends:
- 1 point for each adjacent or bridged number on the edge of the playfield.
- 2 points for each crossed or bridged tile.
Strategic Tips
- Use double tiles strategically, as they offer more placement options.
- Consistently monitor the distribution of points along the edges.
- Players should focus on leaving few edges available for the opponent to capitalize on.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player has no tiles left or when no player can make a move. The player with the most points wins the game.
