Objective
The objective of The Little Dragon Knights is to be the first to reach the dragon hill with your dragon knight while collecting carrots that help you move faster or further.
Setup
- Game Board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Pieces: Each player chooses a dragon knight piece in their color and places it on the start space.
- Carrot Tiles: Shuffle the carrot tiles and place them face down next to the board.
- Dice: Prepare the dice.
- Equipment: Each player receives a personal equipment board.
Gameplay
The game is played in turns, moving clockwise. Each player completes these steps during their turn:
1. Rolling the Dice
- The player rolls a six-sided die.
- The number on the die determines how many spaces the player can move their dragon knight.
2. Collecting or Using Carrots
- Some board spaces have carrots that can be collected.
- Upon reaching such a space, the player picks up the carrot tile and sees what capability or movement advantage it provides.
- Carrots can be used in subsequent turns to create additional movements or perform special actions.
3. Movement
- Players can use their rolled number to move their dragon across the board toward the goal.
- Along the way, you may encounter obstacles or shortcuts which must be strategically handled.
Special Features
- Obstacle Spaces: These spaces cause you to give up carrots or skip a turn.
- Special Spaces: These give you advantages like an extra move.
- Shortcuts: Carrots can be used to shorten your path or bypass barriers.
Winning the Game
The game ends when a player successfully reaches the dragon hill and overcomes the final challenges.
Strategy Tips
- Use carrots wisely: Don’t spend carrots immediately. Save them for critical moments.
- Observe opponents: Plan your movements by keeping an eye on your competitors.
- Leverage shortcuts: Use shortcuts to gain an edge if you’re not confident in winning a straight race.
