Objective of the Game
The objective of Wool Dive is to strategically move your sheep from their starting field across the board to their designated pasture on the opposite side. You need to place walls to block your opponents while navigating your sheep through the grid.
Setup
- Each player selects a color and receives a certain number of sheep figures and wall pieces.
- Players place their sheep on their designated starting positions.
- The game board has a grid structure with each side representing a player’s starting area.
- A starting player is selected randomly.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in turns, starting with the starting player and continuing clockwise. On each turn, a player can perform one of two actions:
- Move a Sheep: Move one of your sheep horizontally or vertically to an adjacent space.
- Place a Wall: Place one of your wall pieces between two grid points to block paths, ensuring not to completely enclose an area as there must always be a path available.
Special Rules
- You can plan your moves so sheep can strategically use corners of wall pieces to diagonally traverse the shortest path across the board.
- Be mindful of how walls can block both your and your opponents' paths.
- Sheep cannot pass through walls, thus placing them strategically can significantly impact the flow of the game.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player successfully moves all of their sheep to the opposite pasture. That player is declared the winner.
Strategic Tips
- Defensive Tactics: Use walls to not only block opponents but also to protect your own sheep.
- Offensive Tactics: Keep multiple paths open to adapt swiftly to blockages.
- Pay attention to other players' strategies and use their placements to your advantage.
Wool Dive requires both strategic thinking and foresight to successfully navigate your sheep to the pastures.
