Objective of the Game
Megatrumpf, also known as Top Trumps, is a card game where players aim to win all cards by cleverly playing their cards' values against the opponent's cards.
Game Materials
- A deck of cards, consisting of multiple cards. Each card has various attributes, such as speed, weight, power consumption, etc.
- At the beginning of the game, each player receives the same number of cards.
Setup
- Shuffle the cards well.
- Distribute the cards evenly to all players.
- Each player places their deck face down in front of them and can only look at the top card.
Gameplay
- Determine the starting player: One player is randomly selected as the starting player.
- The starting player chooses a category from their top card and announces its value. For example: "Speed: 250 km/h".
- All other players announce the value of their top card in that category.
- The player with the highest value wins the round and collects all played cards, placing them at the bottom of their deck.
- The winner of the round becomes the new starting player and chooses a category from their new top card in the next round.
- If a player runs out of cards, they are out of the game.
End of the Game
The game ends when all cards are amassed by a single player or the remaining players decide to stop. The player with the most cards (ideally all) is the winner.
Strategic Tips
- Choose the category with the highest value: Try to select a category where you are relatively sure to have the highest value.
- Observe opponents' behavior: Pay attention to which categories your opponents often win in, to identify their strong cards.
- Adaptability: Be ready to quickly adapt your strategy based on the values on your card.
Special Features
- If two or more players have the same highest value in a round, different house rules might apply, e.g., that all involved cards are placed in the middle and played additionally in the next round, or that the current leader of the round may choose the value again.
