Objective of the Game
Igel ärgern (translated as "Annoy the Hedgehogs") is a fun and simple board game where players must move their hedgehogs to the finish line before others do. The first player to get all of their hedgehogs across the finish line wins the game.
Setup
- Each player chooses a color and takes the 4 hedgehogs of that color.
- All hedgehogs are placed on their respective colored starting positions.
- Players decide the play order (can be by rolling the dice or drawing lots).
- A board depicting a loop path is placed in the middle of the table.
Gameplay
- Start Turn: The player rolls a six-sided die.
- Movement: The player moves one of their hedgehogs forward the number of spaces indicated by the die in a clockwise direction around the board.
- Special Rules:
- Occupied Spaces: If the hedgehog lands on an occupied space, the occupying hedgehog is sent back to its starting position.
- Safe Spaces: These are marked differently; a hedgehog standing on a safe space can’t be knocked off of it.
- Reaching the Finish Line: Once a hedgehog completes a full round on the loop path, it reaches the finish and stays there.
Winning
The first player to get all four hedgehogs to the finish line wins the game.
Strategy Tips
- Blockades: You can strategically position your hedgehogs on safe spaces to make your path more stable.
- Risk Assessment: Decide which hedgehog to move based on their position relative to other hedgehogs in the game.
