Objective

Qwixx is a dice game where the goal is to score as many points as possible by crossing off numbers in color rows. The more numbers you cross off, the more points you collect.

Game Components

  • 6 Dice (2 white, 4 colored: red, yellow, green, blue)
  • A score pad
  • Pens for marking off numbers

Setup

Each player receives a score sheet and a pen. Select one player to start as the active player.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds, and each player takes an active role per round: 1. Rolling the Dice: The active player rolls all 6 dice. 2. Evaluating the White Dice: - All players, including the active player, can use the sum of the two white dice to mark a number in any color row (red, yellow, green, blue). This is optional. - Important: Once numbers are skipped, they cannot be marked again. 3. Colored Combination: - The active player can additionally form a sum of one white and one colored die and mark this sum in the matching color row. - Again, numbers must be marked from left to right within the specific color row. 4. Penalties: - If the active player is unable to mark any number from the white dice or the colored combination, they must mark a penalty on their score sheet (maximum of 4 per player throughout the game). Each penalty results in a deduction of 5 points at the end of the game.

Game End

The game ends when one of the following conditions is met: - A player has completed all numbers in two of the four color rows (reaching the "locked" symbol) and has marked the last entry. - A player has four penalties marked.

Scoring

At the end of the game, calculate the score: - For each color row, count the number of marked numbers and assign the corresponding points as per the scoring table. - Subtract 5 points for each penalty.

The player with the highest score wins.

Strategic Tips: - Plan Ahead: Since numbers can only be marked from left to right, it’s vital to strategically decide when to mark which number. - Risk Taking: Being willing to mark numbers can speed up progress but also threatens penalties. - Flexibility: Try to progress evenly across all color rows rather than focusing solely on one.
